Brayden Watson Returns to Action at Florence; Finishes Sixth

(July 25, 2021) Following multiple weeks off crewing for Tyler Nicely on the DIRTcar Summer Nationals trail, Brayden Watson returned to action on Saturday evening, July 24 at Florence Speedway in Union, Kentucky. Brayden moved past a trio of competitors in his heat race to finish second, which enabled him to roll off from the outside of the second row for the start of the $1,000 to win headliner. Hoping the bottom groove would be there for the feature, Brayden tried it out before jumping up to the top against the wall. He slipped back two positions during the course of the A-Main and was officially credited with a sixth place performance. Top Five for Watson Racing at Twin Cities Raceway Park

(June 6, 2021) After a couple of weekends off from racing action, the Watson Racing team returned to competition on Saturday, June 5 at Twin Cities Raceway Park in Vernon, Indiana. A weekly Open Wheel Modified program was held and a $600 winner's check was up for grabs. Brayden Watson laid down the fastest lap in his group during the qualifying session before being inverted to third in his heat race and finishing third. After rolling off from the inside of the third row in the 20-lap main event, Brayden fought hard to stay up inside of the top five and eventually guided his #93w machine to steady fifth place performance. Watson Runner-Up in Tripleheader Finale at Brownstown!

(May 16, 2021) Brayden Watson and his #93w team entered a tripleheader from May 12-15 at Brownstown Speedway in Brownstown, Indiana and Bloomington Speedway in Bloomington, Indiana. On Wednesday night in a special $1,000 to win midweek show for the Open Wheel Modifieds at Brownstown, Brayden timed in third quickest in his group during qualifying, but later slipped back to fifth in his stacked heat race. After starting the A-Main from the outside of the seventh row, Brayden moved past a trio of racecars in the feature to salvage an eleventh place showing.

At Bloomington Speedway on Friday evening, a $3,009 top prize was up for grabs in the 'Roddy Strong Memorial.' Brayden stopped the clock eighth fastest in his group during qualifying before moving up to fifth in his heat race. By virtue of another driver scratching, the Bedford, Indiana driver transferred into the feature field and eventually netted a solid tenth place performance. Back at Brownstown on Saturday in a weekly contest, Brayden earned Fast Time honors in qualifying, ran second in his heat race, and later notched a runner-up effort in the headliner behind only $600 victor Jacoby Hines! Brayden Watson Ninth in First Visit to Florence Speedway!

(May 2, 2021) Following a rain-out on Friday night at Moler Raceway Park in Williamsburg, Ohio, the Watson Racing team made their first visit to Florence Speedway in Union, Kentucky on Saturday evening, May 1. In the 35th edition of the 'Ralph Latham Memorial,' the American Modified Series (AMS) sanctioned a $1,500 to win shootout at the Cincinnati-area facility. Brayden Watson clicked off the sixth fastest lap in his group during the qualifying session and battled hard to grab the fourth and final transfer spot through his stacked heat race. After rolling off from the outside of the eighth row in the A-Main, Brayden streaked up inside of the top ten and eventually earned a respectable ninth place performance against some of the top modified drivers in the country. Another Runner-Up Performance for Watson at Brownstown!

(April 18, 2021) Bedford, Indiana ace Brayden Watson, fresh off a weekend away from the racetrack, returned to Open Wheel Modified competition on Saturday, April 17 at Brownstown Speedway in Brownstown, Indiana. A Kids Night program was held at the south-central Indiana oval and a $600 paycheck was up for grabs for the winner of the open wheel division. Brayden steered his #93w machine to the fastest lap in his group during qualifying (second quick overall) prior to recording his third straight heat race win. He then started the weekly main event from the outside of the front row and landed in the runner-up position for the second straight feature behind only race winner Jordan Wever! (April 4, 2021) After experiencing a last-minute clutch issue, the Watson Racing team was able to make repairs just in time to travel out to Brownstown Speedway to compete in a weekly Open Wheel Modified event on Saturday night, April 3. Brayden Watson laid down the third fastest lap in his group during qualifying at the 1/4-mile, fairgrounds oval and later drove his #93w Diamond racecar to a strong heat race victory. The young 18-year-old pilot then started the $600 to win headliner from the pole position and wound up posting an impressive runner-up performance behind only victor Jordan Wever! Watson's Bid for Season Opening Win Comes to Crashing Halt

(March 28, 2021) Following a rain-out on Friday night, Brayden Watson and his #93w team finally completed their first racing program of the 2021 season on Saturday evening, March 27 at the nearby Brownstown Speedway in Brownstown, Indiana. In the Open Wheel Modified portion of the 'No Way Out 40,' Brayden stopped the clock second fastest in his group during time trials before securing a heat race triumph. After rolling off from the inside of the second row in the $1,000 to win season lid lifter, Brayden climbed up to the second spot and was looking for more. Unfortunately on a late race restart, the leader broke in front of the field and the Bedford, Indiana driver was caught up in the multi-car melee, which dropped him to a disappointing twelfth place showing.
